THE BIG STORY

As we prepare for New Year's celebrations, personal resolutions and plans, concern over the economy, elections, etc... the biggest story of the last few days will linger... and likely fester... into 2008: http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewForeignBureaus.asp?Page=/ForeignBureaus/archive/200712/INT20071228b.html
Chaos in Pakistan could lead to terrorists holding keys to the nukes. That's somethign that would make most other stories look insignificant.

NOT A GOOD TURN IN PAKISTAN

Benazir Bhutto is killed at a rally today... a move that could dramatically change things in the war on terror in that region: http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,70131-1298475,00.html

JOY TO THE WORLD!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

ILLEGAL IT IS

And now the Mexican government even says the majority of migrants come into the USA illegally: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,317404,00.html This at a time when our Border Patrol reports they're getting attacked a whole lot more often... up 38% since October 1st. Time for the Mexican government to help curb the problem and create a vibrant middle
class in their country, so people don't feel the need to risk their lives and break laws to provide for their families.

Let's line 'em up and have them winnow out the bad Presidential candidates.

SHOPPING CENTER WORRIES

After the Omaha massacre, tensions are high at other shopping centers: http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=071207075053.auvf30tq&show_article=1
My biggest concern is not about wanna-be repeat incidents but those over-reaching bureaucrats who will use the tragedy as a way to grandstand for power... and limit 2nd Amendment rights.

ROMNEY'S DEFENSE

He'll talk about his religion today: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20071206/D8TBVOR80.html
This begs the question, "Why the uneven test?" Obama, Clinton et al get a pass on their beliefs but the GOP candidates get constant questions that suggest they're theocracy-minded intolerant types. A little balance, please? The American people are voting for president, not savior.
