MURTHA SPOUTS OFF AND TERRORISTS GAIN
Al Qaeda's gonna love this part, Jack...
More Arabs have been killed (over 100) since Rep. Jack Murtha began his campaign (aided by left-wing media) to cut-and-run from Iraq. It's clear that the terrorists see an opportunity to further wear down the will of the American people. That's sickening enough. What's worse is Murtha's comments on Meet the Press this morning. He says the US can't win militarily and it's now "up to the politicians" and the diplomats. Murtha should know better. Politicians running the war in Vietnam were the problem. And in Iraq,"diplomats" tried to coddle Saddam... Hussein danced around UN resolutions for twelve years, sucking up oil-for-food cash and further abusing his own people, while encouraging terrorists to strike anywhere. Murtha served America valiantly in the Marines, but that alone doesn't mean he's right about the situation now. He and others (such as John Kerry) love to use the uniform as a shield against any "attacks" from reasonable people who question their motives. They also work to quickly turn any valid argument against their views into a maudlin "I went by the cemetary and saw those crosses" story. This is not about whether the sacrifice of our troops is valued. They cannot escape the fact that this IS all about their attempt to score political gain, even if that means civil war and bloodshed for the Iraqi people. Murtha should know better: Two million people died after the politicians worked out our "honorable way" out of Southeast Asia.

P.S. Murtha is saying that, when he was in the Middle East two months ago, the "commanders said what they're supposed to say"... but he could "see in their eyes" that they're discouraged.
Well, I was over there around the same time. The leaders I spoke with were most concerned about the positive gains in Iraq NOT getting out in the media. And that public opinion, distorted by news, could lead to the very thing Murtha and some democrats are now advocating.
NOW AL-ZARQAWI'S OWN FAMILY IS UPSET WITH HIM: Another step toward winning against Al Qaeda is the understanding that increasing numbers of Arabs think Zarqawi is too extreme. This should empower more moderate Iraqis to become more involved in the fight. This has always been part of the strategy... that, in time, reasonable people would say "enough is enough" and be inspired to take on more responsibility. All the more reason to question the timing and motives of Murtha's assault on the process.
