...why the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on this date in history. It is estimated that as many as one million lives (from both sides) were saved by speeding up the end of the war. As time passes, most accounts are based on emotions and feelings... with reminders of U.S. "occupation". Then there's always a sort of "oh... by the way.. Japan surrendered a few days later" line, there almost begrudgingly. But that's the whole story. Surrender wouldn't have happened when it did without the bomb. And we now must make sure that terrorists don't get nukes next.
