NOW WE KNOW...
...who really beat the GOP in November. And Zawahri thinks he's in charge of the Democrats now: http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/12/al_qaeda_sends_.html
BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID: Charges are filed against U.S. Marines in the Haditha case: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20061222/wl_afp/iraqusjusticemilitary_
It's getting scary now. Too many Americans refuse to see this story in perspective, assuming members of our armed forces are all trigger-happy and on-edge. They're not. It's WAR, and sometimes bad things happen to innocent people. We try to avoid it, but increasingly the courts have struck fear in the hearts of those who put their lives on the line for us every day (including cops). Too often the results are deadly... to our troops. In hostile situations there's no time to think about too many "what if's", especially wondering how an eager attorney might second-guess decisions later on. Heaven help us if we don't keep clear heads on this issue. Time will tell what really happened at Haditha. In the meantime, let's remember the 900,000+ men and women in our military who have served honorably in Afghanistan and Iraq in recent years... over 160,000 of them are doing so right now. Our Christmas prayers are with them and their families.
RAMSEY CLARK'S VIEW: I'll bet he has more compassion for saving Saddam's life than he does for the Marines involved in Haditha.
