RE-SUPPLYING USS REAGAN AT SEA

As we're covering this morning on today's radio show (7-9AM Pacific) on 1170AM KCBQ and http://www.kcbq.com/, every seven days or so the Reagan is replenished with everything from food to parts to a MILLION gallons of jet fuel. And with today's air operations supporting our Marines nearby in Afghanistan, the fuel's at a premium in importance. It's impressive to see how the supply ship (USS Rainier) comes along side, with both vessels keeping pace while underway (about 15+ knots or so) as supplies are shuttled across by cable, fuel line and helicopter.

ALSO ON THURSDAY'S RADIO SHOW: The sound of freedom as F/A 18 Hornets are launched into Afghanistan, plus special newsmaker interviews and the voices of many sailors serving our country. Hear the daily podcasts/instant audio by clicking "Larson on Demand" in the rightside column.
