AND THE BEAT GOES ON

The healthcare takeover bill just makes it through the House with one Republican defecting to approve, otherwise all GOP'ers and 39 Democrats vote against it. But Pelosi got a couple votes more than needed, so now the monstrosity goes to the Senate for more blathering and dangerous tinkering. One of the reasons a few Dems voted for the House bill: Added assurance that taxpayer money wouldn't go to abortions. Many believe such wording (if it's that clear at all) won't survive as the legislation morphs in the Senate. Likely that the issue was "handled" in order to sway a few conservative Democrats only for today's vote.
