PRAYERS FOR THE POLISH PEOPLE

What a shock: Poland's President and several key leaders are dead in the crash of their plane in Russia. Poland is one of the great current success stories... strong economy, freedom... one of our allies. I have a hard time with Obama's condolences (heartfelt as I'm sure his teleprompter is) when this is the same country he left hanging in recent weeks, stripping their missile defenses and bringing into question our support if they are threatened. On the crash itself, weather and pilot error may be a factor, but there's also the question of terrorism or other factors... not the least of which is the track record of the type of Russian-built aircraft itself. No matter what investigations prove regarding this incident, it's a huge blow for Poland. Our prayers are with the people of that nation, and the many citizens of Polish heritage here in America.

THE RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT'S SAFETY RECORD: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6391G820100410
My daughter and I flew in and out of Moscow on this same type aircraft a couple of years ago.
It was a very unsettling experience, and not exactly a feeling of safety.. for a variety of reasons.
Not long after that flight a similar aircraft, same airline, went down in Russia.
