WHAT'S WITH THESE GUYS?

Left-wingers always love to bash America from "across the pond". Al Gore's cranking up his campaign for... well... who knows? Maybe President of Neptune?

AFGHAN UNREST IN PERSPECTIVE

The rioting in Kabul yesterday was due to groups of mercenary instigators. Karzai called them "opportunists". The incident does not mean all is lost in Afghanistan, or that there's 100% anti-American sentiment there. Here's the latest:

MEMORIAL DAY 2006

Today is the day when we honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to keep our nation free. We also salute the men and women who now serve in uniform. That's why it is so disturbing to see the comments from Rep. John Murtha about alleged abuses by Marines in Iraq. The investigation is continuing, but in the meantime the media jump to conclusions based on Murtha's remarks. Awful timing... and it makes you wonder about his motivations in saying this situation is "worse that Abu Gharaib". This talk doesn't help our troops, and allows terrorist to ramp up anti-American sentiment around the world. The majority of our troops serve valiantly, putting their lives on the live for freedom-loving people every day. Let's remember that and keep everything in perspective on this Memorial Day.

One Marine's response to Murtha:

GOOD LUCK CONFERENCING WITH THE HOUSE

Of course it's rrrrrrreally "urgent", this illegal immigration issue, on Capitol Hill. They'll get back to work right away. About June 19th.

THE WHOPPERS CONTINUE

Vicente Fox says that Mexico doesn't "support undocumented migration". Uh... sure. Look at the record. But of course his administration takes a hard-line against illegals coming into their country.

BACK TO THE BORDER

The President sees things first-hand. We need more of that. Maybe if he had spent more time in Southern California over the years, the illegal immigrant problem wouldn't seem like such a surprise. Message to the White House: This is THE domestic issue right now.

MAKING SOME PROGRESS

It's a start. The Senate is in favor of building a border fence. Sort of. Only 370 miles worth.

IT'S CRAZIER THAN YOU THOUGHT

Mexico threatens legal action if US National Guard troops get involved in detaining illegals.

OH, THERE'S MORE: The USA Today headline says "Mexicans See Insult, Danger..." in stepped-up border enforcement. Huh? Here's the scoop:

YOU BE THE JUDGE

Here's the text of President Bush's speech on immigration.

THE PROOF IS IN THE ACTION

The President lays out his immigration plans... and call it what you want but there's still amnesty in the mix. And just why do we seem most worried about hurting Vicente Fox's self esteem? We'll now see who means business on Capitol Hill.

NOT A PROUD MOMENT...

...FOR RADIO. This is the kind of stuff that disgusts me. Makes it embarassing to be in the same business. Too many people in broadcasting assume that you have to be sleazy to win audience. It's the legacy of Howard Stern (who, by the way, doesn't have much audience anymore). Well, it's the spring ratings season and this won't be the last stupid (and dangerous) radio "bit" on the air.

THE KNUCKLEHEAD CAUCUS STRIKES AGAIN

This time it's in the California Senate. The Pro-Gay lobby has gone too far this time. It's going to be up to the Governator to see the light and veto this bill (which will most likely get green-lighted by the State Assembly, too). LarsonBlog hears the grassroots grumbling (much more loudly than usual) about this being "it" for Ahhnold if he doesn't do the right thing. Here's what the lefties want to have taught in California schools:

IMMIGRATION DEBATE CAVE IN

SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY DEPT.

Golly gee, what a surprise! The new CBS News/New York Times poll shows Americans are upset with where the country is headed. Wow. Well maybe it has something to do with the constant negative reports from outlets like CBS and the NYTimes. And there are plenty of disconnects and contradictions in the poll as well. Mainstream/Dinosaur Media love to bash Bush and trumpet their own slanted polls to back up their increasingly nasty "news" spin.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION RAIDS? WHAT RAIDS?
Am I the only one who finds the governmental denials a little strange? The Feds are trying to appeal to illegals as if they're saying, "Oh no, you're mistaken! We're not really going to enforce our laws! Nah! Don't worry about it! " HUH???

CIA IN TURMOIL

Word is that President Bush will nominate Gen. Michael Hayden to replace Porter Goss. Dems are already whining about Hayden's defense of wire tapping (they still don't get it: taps are tracking the bad guys... and oh, by the way, there's a war on). This is the standard DNC playbook. When Atty. Gen. Alberto Gonzales is in the news, they scream about how he supports "torture" (good grief). Same type of rap against Hayden. But there's also flack about Gen. H. coming from the U.S. House on the GOP side. Going to be a very interesting Monday --- Tony Snow's first day in front of the media as White House Press Secretary.
