WHO'S GOVERNOR? MARIA?

Here he goes again. First Arnold caves in to the left on SB 1441 and irritates people of faith, and now he's too cozy with Democrats on "global warming". Message to the Governator: Better veto SB 1437 or you're toast with conservatives.

AL GORE OUGHT TO LOVE THIS

The Knucklehead Caucus in Sacramento passed a bill trying to shift California presidential election wins from electoral votes to popular vote. Can't wait to see how all the illegals campaign for this one (yes, many illegals DO vote, even though it's illegal)...and what will Arnold do about the bill? Veto it, please.

FORCED CONVERSION TO ISLAM NOT A FLUKE

The Fox News journalists weren't caught up in an unusual situation, nor was their forced "conversion" contrary to Islam. Author Robert Spencer was a guest on our show today and writes about this issue in the current edition of Human Events:

HOLLYWOOD MYOPIA

Bad timing and insensitivity were on parade when the Emmy Awards show began with a skit involving a plane crash. This on the day of the deadliest U.S. crash in five years. Once again Hollywood shows how it is tone-deaf when it comes to the rest of America. If the Comair crash had happened in Los Angeles or New York... or New Orleans (fashionable for feigned "extra concern" today) they would have done a re-write. But hey, as showbiz sees it, Kentucky's just flyover hick country. Here's one Hollywood critic who gets it right: www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/emmy-what-was-nbcconan-thinking/

THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY DOESN'T EXIST?

Apparently not in the eyes of the San Diego Union-Tribune. After the flap raised by reader complaints (and ours) over the U-T's publication of the ad for "Southern Baptist Sissies", the paper has yet to print any note about the issue. The ad ran again yesterday (U-T statement on Friday--one not published in the paper--said it was already done in an earlier press run) and I haven't been able to find any article apologizing for offending many in the Christian community.
This is a far cry from the continuous coverage they gave the "to print or not to print" debate over the Muslim cartoons earlier this year. Editor Karin Winner was quoted regarding the U-T's sensitivity, concern and blah blah blah. Here's a trip down Memory Lane:
www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20060220/news_mz1e20letter.html
BTW: One listener wrote me on Friday seeing some parody in this ad flap vs. Paulson's being offended by the Mt. Soledad Cross. Ah, there are big differences in the issues. We'll discuss more of this on today's show, 12-3PM Pacific on NewsRadio 600 KOGO and www.kogo.com

SEE WHAT THE FUSS IS ABOUT: See the ad and the U-T's "statement" on www.kogo.com
Just click on "Heard on KOGO" and then go to "Mark Larson File".

BUSH NOT GOING THERE: At this morning's news conference he was asked about endorsing the GOP candidate in Connecticut (aka: the guy no one can remember who is running in the Lieberman-Lamont Senate race). One Republican who isn't dancing around the issue is Jack Kemp... who told me on my KOGO show that he would campaign for--- Lieberman. SUNDAY PREVIEW

On the Mark Larson Sunday Show, today from 12 Noon to 1PM Pacific, guests include Donna Rice Hughes (how to keep your kids safe online) and Ronald Kessler of NewsMax.com with an insider's look at the National Counter-Terrorism Center. Catch the show on NewsRadio 600 KOGO in San Diego and on www.kogo.com

WE'RE OFFENDED: Not often, but this time, yes. The San Diego Union-Tribune's in-your-face ad for "Southern Baptist Sissies" featuring an underwear clad man in crucifixion pose is unacceptable.
So is the paper's lame "we reserve the right to accept or deny advertising" statement. In the blurb, they made it sound like they're hearing the tons of negative complaints from readers but still admit the ad is running again today. (You can see the ad... and the U-T's response statement... on www.kogo.com --- click the Heard on KOGO "Mark Larson File" item). If it wasn't Christians being offended, you can bet the U-T would have also apologized for any offense. This, after all, is the paper that didn't want to inflame passions by printing the Islamic cartoons and goes out of its way to push the gay agenda at every opportunity. No, their statement is not enough... especially with no mention of Christians/Christianity. It's time to be equally sensitive to all, not just to select special interests. BTW: Hear my interview with the play's writer/director Del Shore by going to www.kogo.com and clicking on "KOGO On Demand". You'll find the segment in our Podcast section. More on this story on Monday's show between 12-3PM on KOGO.

The question is: Will the evidence back up the "confession"? The broader story involves this guy as a teacher of young kids, bumped out of his job due to a child porn issue. ANOTHER NUTBALL: Watching Ned Lamont (who beat Lieberman this week) with Chris Wallace today. Do all "new Democrats" have to look crazy (ala Howard Dean)? His view of the world is uninformed, inspired by Cindy Sheehan and John Murtha (and George Soros) and on the edge-of-screwy. My wife noted, "Look at his eyes... he just looks loopy" (ah, there's the Dean image again). LET'S REMEMBER...

...why the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on this date in history. It is estimated that as many as one million lives (from both sides) were saved by speeding up the end of the war. It's hard to recall the full perspective if we're only reading reports like this AP story: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,207208,00.html
As time passes, most accounts are based on emotions and feelings... with reminders of U.S. "occupation". Then there's always a sort of "oh... by the way.. Japan surrendered a few days later" line, there almost begrudgingly. But that's the whole story. Surrender wouldn't have happened when it did without the bomb. And we now must make sure that terrorists don't get nukes next.

CASTRO ON THE ROPES

Just when the world seems to be coming apart (again), now Castro is facing a health crisis. This means that Kim Jong Il of North Korea will become annoyed and suffer a case of "dictator envy" and decide to come up with a new goofball threat. Anytime another dictator gets into the news, the other tyrants lust for more PR. This should be fun to watch.
