THE PRESIDENT IN NEW YORK CITY

I was there at St. Paul's Chapel when the President arrived for the late afternoon 9/11 memorial service today. Security was extremely tight and a few anti-war protesters were also trying to be heard. "Bring the troops home now" balloons, chants and heckling and signs claiming Bush is responsible for 9/11 ("it was an inside job") were around, too. I know that it's the American way to have free speech, but seeing some of this nutjob behavior at Ground Zero was especially repulsive. Radical chants and shouts of conspiracy in a graveyard, essentially. And there was the man who raised his fist and gave Bush a middle finger salute...for several minutes... directed to him and the church, apparently. Here's more about the President's visit: www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-09-10-bush-sept-11_x.htm?csp=34

I know life's getting back to "normal", but this is surreal to see near Ground Zero.

This is like dancing on graves in a cemetary.
