AND THE POINT IS...?

Sad news, yes. But what's the point? And what's with media picking "milestones" out of the air (or maybe somewhere more "personal"), then trumpeting the numbers like we're now supposed rethink everything we're doing in the War on Terrorism. This would be as stupid as saying early on in World War II, "Well, we're past the number killed at Pearl Harbor so let's wrap it up boys. Hitler, Tojo... we'll be out of here right away." The media elites pulled this kind of thing when the death toll reached 1,000... then 2,000 and so on. It's like they're running a macabre TV news telethon. And it's usually without perspective and context. What dangerous nonsense.
