ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP: Saturday night's Pay TV bloodfest in Las Vegas is another sign of how far culture's been corrupted (and this has nothing to do with Tom DeLay).
The 1970s film Network was prophetic. My prediction: Real killing, pay-per-view (excused with some sort of crazy rationalization) on pay cable within five years. Just imagine: Some "experts" decide that it's too expensive to put murderers to death the old fashioned way, so they let 'em at each other, in the ring. While I can understand bottom line issues, what does it say about society? It's never enough, and soon Ultimate Fighting will get boring... and it will require new twists and thrills to maintain its success. This kind of thing was very popular in ancient Rome. And then they were "toast". Watch out.

Chat rooms, MySpace.com, Xanga, Facebook and other internet connections are very dangerous for children. Tonight on NBC, Dateline features the third report in their series featuring the capture of adults trying to meet underage kids for sex. In just three days, Riverside, Ca authorities grabbed FIFTY people who "met" kids in web chat rooms and showed up in person to engage in sexual assault. Working with a group called "Perverted-Justice.com", they trolled the internet and found it's very easy to find adults eager to get children into trouble.

Here's just a sample of one chat room "conversation" used in the sting operation (along with commentary by the experts regarding how predators work on the web). IMPORTANT NOTE: This is very explicit in content. Discretion is advised. Any parent who reads this and still doesn't care about what their kids are doing online needs some serious help.

Some LarsonBlog readers didn't get the humor in the Thursday blurb re: Alito. Yes, it's an interesting development but no, I don't think he's really become a Souter. But we'll keep an eye on him. The guy who's really going to morph into the darling of the Democrats/libs is Justice Anthony Kennedy, who'll play the part of the adored retired justice Sandra. My prediction on the next to retire (Soon?Please?): Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The fight over that seat will make Alito's hearings look like child's play.
