HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

John Kerry steps in it again, this time insulting the troops:
http://newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/10/31/135841.shtml?s=br
Scary stuff for the Dems to deal with right before the election.

WHO ARE THE RECRUITS? This Heritage Foundation report says it all (I hope Kerry devours this): www.heritage.org/Research/NationalSecurity/cda06-09.cfm

WHAT NOW? WHAT NEXT?

How deep is the GOP "bench" if Duncan Hunter moves out of Congress to pursue the White House? Here's the latest from FlashReport: www.flashreport.org/commentary0b.php?postID=2006103008571534&authID=2005110112071864&post_offsetP=0 And yes, it's nice to be in the mix.

PRESIDENT DUNCAN HUNTER?

The word is out that the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee is going to announce exploring a run for President in 2008: www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,226137,00.html
I received the early buzz of this around noon Sunday (assisted by hard-working producer Anna) and after checking with inside sources, I found that it's a safe bet he will set things in motion at an 11AM press conference today. And it's a smart move. Think about the current GOP field: McCain is not consistent, Guiliani too liberal, Allen in trouble in his Senate race, Frist too wishy-washy at times, etc. Not a real "deep bench" for Republicans. There really is no true Reagan conservative in the mix. Hunter could be that man. He came in with the Reagan Revolution in 1980, he's consistent on support for the military and conservative principles and he's actually done something on border security. I've known him for 26 years. He's the real deal, and not a packaged candidate but a man of the people who also isn't afraid to stand up for faith, family and hunting. Mr. Down-to-earth. Depending on how the left tries to demonize him, a President Hunter could be in our future.

CHAIRMAN HUNTER ON WITH US TODAY: He'll join me live at 12:05PM Pacific, right after his press conference. Also on the show, live today: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

LARSON AND KING ON CNN

Talking about the special White House radio broadcasts.

I'M FOR STEM CELL RESEARCH

The kind that doesn't kill the donor, that is. Adult stem cells, yes. Embryonic, no. That's the real issue. In the meantime Michael J. Fox was busy distorting the issue with Katie Couric: www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/26/
eveningnews/main2128188.shtml

All of this "victim stuff" seems to proved Ann Coulter's point, doesn't it?

THIS MAKES ME SICK

The latest deadly fire in California was deliberately set. Whoever is responsible must be caught and punished. Reprehensible stuff... and the extreme "Red Flag" fire danger continues until Saturday: www.azcentral.com/12news/news/articles/1026paxon-esparanzafire-CR.html All of this comes on the third anniverary of the San Diego county fires that destroyed over 2000 homes... many of which have yet to be rebuilt.

COURTS MESSING WITH MARRIAGE AGAIN

This time the New Jersey Supreme Court works to accelerate same-sex "marriage"... but by kicking the issue over to the legislature: www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp?Page=/Culture/archive/200610/CUL20061025b.html Isn't it interesting how courts, often dominated by the left, seem obsessed with this issue... while we're at war with terrorists who want to kill us? When judges do get involved in the conflict, they're often mostly focused on sticking it to Bush or helping terror suspects with their "rights". Priorities, anyone?

TRUST HER?

Speaker-Wanna-Be Nancy Pelosi, darling of the left, promises "when I'm speaker there will be no impeachment" of President Bush. Uh huh. And she's really a centrist. Reagan said, "Trust but verify". In this case there's no reason to trust anything she says. A U.S. House of Representatives majority would be a disaster, bringing us Pelosi, Murtha and the Democrat hit parade of wackos in charge of committees. I'll predict it here: If, heaven forbid, the Dems take the House, she--and they--will try to look centered and reasonable... until the 2008 elections are over. Then the beast will really be unleashed. Also in their scopes: Talk Radio.

WEEKEND UPDATE

I saw "Flags of Our Fathers" yesterday. Very powerful, and deserving of bigger box office than it's getting so far this weekend (3rd). Very true to the book by James Bradley and in its depictions of the battle for Iwo Jima. Of course director Clint Eastwood can't resist some PC applications and spin (and there have been complaints about not enough African-Americans in the film.. there were 900 in the battles), but the personal stories and images are haunting and deeply moving. When Bradley's book was first released a few years ago he was a guest on my show, discussing why the "Greatest Generation" is so reticent in discussing their experiences in World War II. See the film.. and read the book. Well worth it.
NOTE: Yes, there were close to 900 African-Americans involved in taking Iwo Jima... that's out of 110,000 Marines. Here are more facts: http://www.iwojima.com/battle/battleb.htm

LARSON WEEKEND SHOW: San Diego Police Chief Bill Lansdowne joins us for the entire hour - 4 to 5PM Pacific today on Newsradio 600 KOGO and www.kogo.com

KUDOS TO REP. DUNCAN HUNTER & CO.

Congressmen Duncan Hunter, Darrell Issa and Brian Bilbray are demanding that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld pull CNN's embedded reporters from Iraq immediately (see CNN story below). Let's pray that this happens, ASAP. Maybe we should make this book required reading for CNN'ers, too: www.mydearsoldier.com It seems 9 year olds have a better sense of patriotism that CNN does.

SPEAKING OF HUNTER: The San Diego Union-Tribune's attempted smear job regarding the Congressman's "estate" in Alpine took a bizarre turn today. The Chairman of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, unable to get the paper to share his side of the story, decided to BUY a full-page color ad from them (complete with very scary real estate photos of the mildewed mess purchased in 1994... not exactly an "estate"). His campaign paid the U-T $26,000 just to clear up the story. I'm sure the newspaper isn't donating that loot to charity.

SOMEONE SHOULD PUNISHED FOR THIS

CNN can try to explain why they aired the sniper video... but it's sickening. It gives aid and comfort to the enemy and distorts public perception of the war. It's just plain wrong. Those responsible should be held accountable: www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/anderson.cooper.360/blog/2006/10/why-we-aired-sniper-video.html

WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?

Maybe Chinese pressure on North Korea is working: http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/10/19/D8KS3JD00.html

BUSBY GAINING ON BILBRAY?

So says a new poll in California's 50th district: www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=57a4d8e9-a7a6-424b-b508-7cc9e162f755&c=37 Busby chirps about this being a reflection of fallout after the Foley case and the "culture of corruption". Expect Democrat money to pour in a bit more heavily for Busby if they believe the poll (I think the poll is suspect and wishful thinking by some). My prediction: GOP will hold the U.S. House and Senate... by a hair.

MAYBE THIS IS WHY...

ADDICTED TO THE INTERNET?

MYSTIFIED BY THE OBVIOUS

Just watched a Today Show report from LA about the 300,000,000 population milestone. It was one of many stories I've seen on the networks about the expanding U.S. number. No one seems to want to talk about the real issue: Illegal immigration. Factor the numbers of illegals into the equation and it's easy to figure we likely passed 300M some time ago. The NBC report noted that 90% of the babies being born in a typical LA hospital are Hispanic. The fact is: No analysis of growing census numbers can be accurate without addressing the impact of illegal immigration and "anchor babies" being born every day, at increased expense to taxpayers and having a greater impact on U.S. sovereignty. At least this report is more accurate: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20061017/D8KQCF780.html

MONDAY PREVIEW

A new book (featured on 60 Minutes last night) accuses the Bush administration with treating several Christian leaders with disdain, manipulating people of faith for political gain. I'll talk with one of the most influential Christians in the world today: Charles Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship. We'll reveal what's really happening in politics today and debunk the myth that nothing's being done to help the neediest members of our society. I've known Chuck for over twenty years... he understands all about the "landscape", having worked for Nixon and serving time in prison thanks to Watergate. He's another newsmaker you won't hear anywhere else.

His story is here: www.lifewithoutlimbs.org THERE'S MORE: In our interview I mentioned a personal experience regarding a man named Randy. People see him on the streets in East County as he boldly goes about his daily activities even those he's tremendously disfigured by a condition many call "Elephant Man" disease. When the interview with Nick first aired, I got an email from a listener (Charles Parker) who, with two friends has just done a marvelous short TV documentary about Randy. Democrat leader Sen. Harry Reid made a $1.1 million profit in a land deal.. land he may not have owned: http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/10/11/D8KMJ8I00.html Will he resign? Republicans seem to do that when scandals erupt... Dems seem to hang around.

LARSON AT THE WHITE HOUSE

Just announced on today's show: We'll broadcast live from the White House on Tuesday October 24th (two weeks from today) joined by a stellar parade of big name newsmaker guests. We're honored to be the only San Diego radio show to be on-site. Stay tuned for details 12-3PM Pacific on Newsradio 600 KOGO and www.kogo.com

FOLEY MONEY USED FOR GOOD

Disgraced-and-resigned Rep. Mark Foley donated money to Sen. George Allen's campaign (something legal that members of Congress do on occasion). Allen took the lead and donated the money to charity. $5000 was given to Enough Is Enough (www.protectkids.com)... and for that we're grateful (in the interest of full disclosure, I serve on the EIE Board of Directors). Maybe other politicos will follow suit. Here's the story: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/061009/dcm036.html?.v=64

NORTH KOREAN TIMELINE: CLINTON'S LEGACY

NUKE OR JUST A BIG BANG?

We'll see. But the international community has awakened to the dictatorial midget in North Korea. Bush calls for "UN sanctions". That should be interesting, considering the collection of mini-dictators in the General Assembly. Here's the latest: www.breitbart.com/news/2006/10/09/061009142447.oz45ac6k.html

THE LITTLE DICTATOR FLEXES HIS NUKE

As often said on our show, Kim Jong Il has quite the sense of drama. When another dictatorial type gets more publicity (like Ahmadinejad does) he makes noise. Sunday night he made more noise than usual with his in-your-face underground nuke test. We can thank the Clinton administration for setting the stage for this: http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=2543652 We'll have more on what it all means for North Korea's neighbors (and America) on the Larson Show today on KOGO. MONDAY PREVIEW

A George Soros-supported group is snooping for dirt on Christians in DC, targeting leaders like Dr. James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Paul Weyrich, Tony Perkins and others. The organization is demanding records of White House visits to show how Christians have too much influence on President Bush: http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp?Page=/Culture/archive/200610/CUL20061006a.html What's really up with this? We'll talk live with Dr. James Dobson at 12:05PM Pacific on Newsradio 600 KOGO and www.kogo.com

ARNOLD VS. PHIL WRAP-UP

As I told the Governor in Sacramento last night (where I emceed his post-debate event), there will be a couple of the usual media outlets claiming Angelides got some traction in the debate. That's sooooo predictable. Case in point: www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/10/08/BAGF1LL5L07.DTL Phil's on "equal footing" with the Governor just by "showing up"? Oh brother. Anyone who wants a vision of the future under Phil (hevaen forbid) just needs to look into his eyes... and the image of Nancy Pelosi in the audience cheering him on. The reality is that Arnold is on a roll and Angelides tried but can't overcome his I-love-taxes view of California. Here's more analysis:http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/10/08/BAGS3LL5A41.DTL

ARNOLD AND PHIL WARMING UP...

...for the Great Debate tonight (6PM Pacific on Newsradio 600 KOGO and www.kogo.com) It's the one-and-only match-up between Governor Schwarzenegger and Gubernatorial Wanna-Be Phil "I can tax that, too" Angelides. The Terminator has invited me to emcee a special post-debate event in Sacramento featuring Ahhhnold (I'll be introducing him), so I'll have behind-the-scenes info on Monday's radio show (12-3PM Pacific). In the meantime, Phil is hoping to derail the Guv (watch for Angelides trying to play the "race card") and he's getting extra last-minute advice:
http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/15702798.htm
SPEAKING OF THE RACE CARD: Here's what the left is all worked up about: http://dailynews.com/news/ci_4453841 Gee, how radical! Immigrants who learn English and assimilate can be more productive as Americans? Ooooooooh. Hot stuff!

ON THE LARSON SUNDAY SHOW: Sam Harris spews about his "Letter to a Christian Nation" (my, is he nasty) and baseball's John Rocker explains his latest controversial project to get everyone in America to speak english. Noon to 1PM Pacific on KOGO and www.kogo.com
Program note: The Sunday Show moves to a NEW TIME next week - 4 to 5PM.
The weekday program still airs from 12-3PM Pacific.

WACKOS CALL OFF PROTEST

There will be no disgusting protest at the funeral of the Amish school shooting victims, thanks to our friend Mike Gallagher. As he told us on Wednesday's show, the "church" group agreed to a deal:www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,217760,00.html

THEY'RE BAAAACK

The nutball Phelps family from their Kansas "church" is going to picket the funerals of the children killed in the Amish school incident. It would be a nice time for God to strategically place a few lightning bolts. Here's the story: www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page=/Nation/archive/200610/NAT20061004a.html

SADDAM VERDICT DELAYED

Possibly due to concerns about a Sunni uprising against the decision. So now will justice be ignored due to potential street violence? Good grief.

BOMBSHELL

The Washingon Times (not the left-leaning Post) calls on Speaker Hastert to resign due to the Foley case:

If Hastert goes ahead with this suggestion, I love the idea of Henry Hyde taking his place.

BOB WOODWARD, UNVARNISHED

As the media adoration continues, taking everything he says in his new book as gospel, Woodward admits what we've suspected. On NBC this morning, Matt Lauer presses him as to why he would hold all this info until now? If he had damning details of deception that could save American lives... and he knew that months ago... why wait until the book tour? In a moment of candor, Woodward says his publisher and bosses at the Washington Post just wanted him to get it out in time for the election. Uh. Watergate passions revisited. I guess politics are more important... hmmmm.

FOLEY CASE HITS THE FAN

Count on one thing: Mainstream media piling on in order to try to weaken Bush's increased approval rating. We'll talk with formed GOP Chairman Ed Gillespie about the potential impact on today's show (12-3PM Pacific on NewsRadio 600 KOGO and www.kogo.com) The latest: http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/10/fbi_opens_preli.html
