BUSH GETS SPECIFIC

He restates the basics on why we're fighting the bad guys in Iraq and what the mission is all about. He also lays out additional information about specifics, even posting it all on www.whitehouse.gov. But that's never enough for the left. They want a timetable from withdrawal (or defeat as they see it). Kerry et al are already whining.

THE ECONOMY'S DOING VERY WELL...

So leave it to the lefties in the media to second-guess the stats. Several outlets dutifully reported Tuesday's big leap in consumer confidence, durable goods orders and housing values. Holiday sales are up strongly and the Dow is hitting near 11,000. Bush should be talking about economic success more often (in addition to taking action on illegal immigration and boldly championing real progress in Iraq). But: the New York Times and others have to find something.. anything... to whine about. So, they find negatives in the good economic news.
Now about those tax cuts that need to be extended...

SADDAM WASN'T ALL THAT BAD?

Ted Turner apparently needs some time in the public spotlight, saying that Iraq is no better off now than when Saddam controlled the people with his iron fist. Time to take a rest, Ted.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION ON THE BUSH RADAR

Finally. GWB is focusing on the problem but still demonstrates a pesky addiction to amnesty for illegals. But this is a good start. Now let's see the talk turn into action. Soon.

CUNNINGHAM SCANDAL HITS THE FAN

Rep. Duke Cunningham's admission that he accepted $2.4 million in bribes is (even in its refreshing frankness --- we're not used to politicians coming "clean" in this way). I feel disappointed, outraged, frustrated, betrayed. But I pray that God will protect him and his family as their entire world has been turned upside down. By choice, yes. Stupid moves, yes. But also human behavior ... which should serve has a warning to all of us. Democrats in Congress will use this as a way to portray all Republicans as corrupt... which, of course, is baloney.

ONCE A TYRANT, ALWAYS A TYRANT

Saddam hasn't lost his old "charm". And American traitor Ramsey Clark is now part of his defense team. Kudos to the judge for putting up with this, but puzzled as to why he has again delayed the Butcher of Baghdad's trial.

IT'S ABOUT TIME

Saddam's trial begins on Monday, and not a moment too soon. Keep an eye on how the left may try to suggest he's a kindler, gentler despot now. And his atrocities are somehow our fault.

IN CASE ANYONE NEEDS A REMINDER...

Terrorists are ruthless killers, not people with whom we can negotiate. Today's news is more proof that they're trying to wear down the will of the American people, no matter who they hurt. Those who want to cut-and-run from the cause for freedom invite more of this.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING... AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!

There. I've said it! Ha! Forget the "PC crowd". It is what it is. Enjoy the celebration with your friends and family this weekend! Here is Abraham Lincoln's very moving Thanksgiving proclamation, delivered during the immense struggle of the Civil War:

MEANWHILE, IN NEW ORLEANS: The city is in shambles, much of it still uninhabitable. Rep. Dennis Hastert was right... some of it should probably never be rebuilt. But: I guess we're supposed to rejoice that the strip joints are open again and Mardi Gras sleaze will still be scheduled anyway. TIME magazine details how its worse than we thought. Wow.

THE LEFT MOUNTS ITS ATTACK

MoveOn.org and other libs are trying to trash anyone who questions Rep. Jack Murtha's assessment of the Iraq situation. Yes, Murtha was a hero for his military service. And yes, his comments have ignited a firestorm of debate and an appeasement strategy that puts our troops in greater danger.... encouraging the terrorists. Among the more ill-advised statements: That the military has done all that it can and it's time to let the politicians run the war.

THESE people should run the war?

THANKSGIVING IS OFFENSIVE, TOO?

Some aren't content with attempts to make Christmas "generic" and PC... they're increasingly irritated with "Thanksgiving", too... preferring greetings such as, "Happy Turkey Day". After all, giving thanks implies you're recognizing God's provision. And that's offensive to bureaucrats who think they are the Almighty. Here's more news from the front:

MURTHA SPOUTS OFF AND TERRORISTS GAIN

Al Qaeda's gonna love this part, Jack...

More Arabs have been killed (over 100) since Rep. Jack Murtha began his campaign (aided by left-wing media) to cut-and-run from Iraq. It's clear that the terrorists see an opportunity to further wear down the will of the American people. That's sickening enough. What's worse is Murtha's comments on Meet the Press this morning. He says the US can't win militarily and it's now "up to the politicians" and the diplomats. Murtha should know better. Politicians running the war in Vietnam were the problem. And in Iraq,"diplomats" tried to coddle Saddam... Hussein danced around UN resolutions for twelve years, sucking up oil-for-food cash and further abusing his own people, while encouraging terrorists to strike anywhere. Murtha served America valiantly in the Marines, but that alone doesn't mean he's right about the situation now. He and others (such as John Kerry) love to use the uniform as a shield against any "attacks" from reasonable people who question their motives. They also work to quickly turn any valid argument against their views into a maudlin "I went by the cemetary and saw those crosses" story. This is not about whether the sacrifice of our troops is valued. They cannot escape the fact that this IS all about their attempt to score political gain, even if that means civil war and bloodshed for the Iraqi people. Murtha should know better: Two million people died after the politicians worked out our "honorable way" out of Southeast Asia.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051120/pl_nm/iraq_usa_dc
P.S. Murtha is saying that, when he was in the Middle East two months ago, the "commanders said what they're supposed to say"... but he could "see in their eyes" that they're discouraged.
Well, I was over there around the same time. The leaders I spoke with were most concerned about the positive gains in Iraq NOT getting out in the media. And that public opinion, distorted by news, could lead to the very thing Murtha and some democrats are now advocating.

NOW AL-ZARQAWI'S OWN FAMILY IS UPSET WITH HIM: Another step toward winning against Al Qaeda is the understanding that increasing numbers of Arabs think Zarqawi is too extreme. This should empower more moderate Iraqis to become more involved in the fight. This has always been part of the strategy... that, in time, reasonable people would say "enough is enough" and be inspired to take on more responsibility. All the more reason to question the timing and motives of Murtha's assault on the process.

NOW THAT WE KNOW WHAT EACH SIDE IS UP TO...

...let's get back to winning the war on terror. Despite the mainstream/dinosaur media's attempt to spin the U.S. House debate over Iraq as a REPUBLICAN political trick, Americans have a fresh look at the face of appeasement. It was the Dems who tried to hijack reality and undermine the war effort (not to mention screw up the coming Iraqi election). Get back to work, get out of the way and let the military commanders do their jobs without micro-management and grandstanding by Congress.
http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000087&sid=ajPP3iUaDrYg&refer=home

THANKS TO THE "PULL OUT NOW" BUNCH: Terrorists are trying to destroy the will of the American people. It's not a coincidence that attacks have increased in the past two days after Rep Murtha and Sen. Kerry & company have started to wallow in Vietnam era cut-and-run talk.

TIME TO GET THE HOOK!

Cindy Sheehan needs to be helped off the national stage. Not a good day for her in court Thursday, but now she's planning a European Tour. Good grief.
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/P/PEACE_MOM?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=US

WHAT IS BILL CLINTON SMOKING? He's been bashing the American war effort while on his Middle East tour, and he's now kissing up to (sorry Monica) ... Saddam's former aides? Huh?!?!?
http://newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/11/17/93029.shtml

MURTHA SAYS IT'S ABOUT PAIN, NOT POLITICS: Maybe that's really his view and he has the right to say it, but this "let's get out now" campaign is getting crazier, with other people who should know better piling on for political purposes. Kerry's bloviating, Stansfield Turner says Cheney's "Vice President of torture". This anti-America swill sends a message to terrorists: Hey, we're helping you... we're outta there soon. Sharpen your swords for retribution. Haven't we learned from history? Cut and run in Vietnam left about 2 million locals dead, thanks to the communists and Pol Pot. Politicians using this situation for personal gain are disgusting.

ENOUGH POLITICAL CORRECTNESS ALREADY

Time to get back to tradition. Here's how we're doing it in San Diego:
www.RestoreChristmas.org

Fox News Channel's John Gibson is making waves with "The War on Christmas: How the Liberal Plan to Ban the Sacred Christian Holiday Is Worse Thank You Thought". This book is must reading for the cultural battle ahead.

MICHAEL NEWDOW IS AT IT AGAIN: This time he wants to dump "In God We Trust". Attention Mr. Newdow: How about a little American history here? This should help you:

AS IF MYSPACE.COM WASN'T ENOUGH

It's not just for tunes anymore.

And this isn't an isolated case:
www.firstcoastnews.com/news/usworld/news-article.aspx?storyid=47436
So should we be mystified by all of this? Not really. Social engineers have focused on getting condoms to kids at the earliest ages, while real education suffers. Here's a current blurb from the classroom:
www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=47399
God was taken out of schools so there's no foundation for truth and discipline. And every day we have more stories about kids gone bad... usually with the help of adults who lack a moral compass. The "cool mom" story is one example:

We've been talking a lot lately about the problems associated with kids using the internet to share way-too-much-personal-info and the way their "soul-baring" encourages bad behavior, working like bait for potential predators. ABC CONTINUES TO BLAME AMERICA FIRST: I almost lost my dinner Monday night, watching ABC World News Tonight spend time profiling the female suicide bomber (she was a DUD, thank God) and THEN (here comes the problem) they followed up with an EXCLUSIVE interview with two Iraqis claiming that US troops abused them(!!!). ABC was clearly more excited about this than the female bomber-wanna-be. How sickening. Are they now doing "equal time" to balance stories about terrorists, so they won't offend the thugs? GOTTA LOVE THOSE THOUGHTFUL LIBERALS: Just a sample of the typical left-winger email I get regularly. So deep, so tolerant. This one's from concerned listener "RJ":

You crack me up. I've been listening to your radio show for the last several months, during lunch hour errands, and I can barely pay attention to the road while laughing out loud. At times, I think you really believe in what you say, and how the left are a bunch of "whackos", or them "dems", or those "who are really way out there", and how you really believe in the Bush administration and the right wing in general. But, I know that it is all an act, you being in the entertainment industry, and you couldn't possibly believe the nonsense that you spew on your broadcast. Do you also do a stand up comedy routine somewhere in the San Diego area?
Can't wait for Monday's show.

IT'S FREEDOM WEEKEND!

We've been celebrating freedom all week, highlighting the 16th anniversary of the Berlin Wall's fall (as Jack Kemp told me, "It was really pushed... didn't just fall... thanks to Reagan, Thatcher"). We've also commemorated the birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps and Veteran's Day. For the rest of the weekend, I'll be in Santa Barbara, California with the Young America's Foundation's West Coast Leadership Conference. This sold out event will feature speakers such as Michael Reagan, Dinesh D'Souza and others.. including yours truly. Over 800 will attend the annual event. Most are conservative college students from even the most liberal campuses across America. Read more about it here:

JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE

I ran into General Joseph Hoar today. A career Marine, he was also commander of U.S. Central Command in the early 1990s and is now the darling of the democrats. Teddy Kennedy even invoked his name during Meet the Press last Sunday. Hoar's a smart, pleasant guy (even with an unpleasant-sounding name) but he's just wrong regarding what we're doing in Iraq. (Note: The left seems to think that simply by trotting out someone with a title in front of a name means "Gospel truth". Not quite.) He was in our Clear Channel studios to record the national democrat response to Bush's weekly radio address, airing this Saturday. Obviously he's the Dem's new point man on all-things-military. As to what he'll say: I'm sure that it will be a mix of the usual "we support the troops.. BUT" verbiage that does nothing but send the wrong message to our men and women in uniform and encourage the terrorists. The DNC is only using him for political purposes. We'll find out more when General Hoar is a guest on my KOGO Radio show later this month.

ON FRIDAY'S SHOW: Charles Colson (former Nixon confidant and Prison Fellowship founder), Fox News' Chris Wallace and ABC 20/20's John Stossel. On NewsRadio600 KOGO and on www.kogo.com.

PAT NEEDS TO TAKE SOME TIME OFF

He's done it again. Pat Robertson isn't helping Christianity by making over-the-top comments. Now he says residents of Dover,PA have "voted God out" of their city by nixing "intelligent design" in local schools. So what's next: locusts, plagues... all hell breaking lose without God's protection just because Robertson says so? Memo to Pat: Non-religious people don't get the context and your bad timing after Tuesday's elections only serves to unfairly stereotype people of faith. Time for a little vacation?

AND THE WINNER IS...

...not Gov. Ahhnold. All of his key initiatives were trounced, despite a strong fight for Prop 75 until late in the evening election returns. The unions got what they wanted for their money, even though they've now mortgaged their future (and that of their membership... members who are still stuck in labor "political slavery" with no reasonable opt-out possibilities). Why was the Guv so soundly defeated? Analysts are acting mystified (which they think is a sign of sophistication) but it's pretty simple: Demonize Arnold with $100 million+ in nasty, untruthful ads and people suddenly have a new "understanding" of him, voting against all the propositions. Opponents did everything but claim Arnold wants to kill kids and pets. Now that it's over, the Governator says he's humbled and will now try to work with the other side. I hope he doesn't cave in to the left and a foster a new PC attitude... which would give the Knucklehead Caucus in Sacramento an even greater victory.

ELECTION DAY IN SAN DIEGO

Here we go again. Expect runoffs to determine winners in the council races since no candidate will get over 50% That means the City Council limps along short of a full group until 2006. Jerry Sanders will be elected mayor by least 5%. Rival candidate Donna Frye told me on Monday that she won't challenge the results and would instruct "friends" (aka unions, et al) to consider the matter settled if she loses. However, she left one little ray of sunshine for those who won't let it go easily, saying she "just wants every vote to be counted". Been down this legal road before. And City Attorney Mike Aguirre is on record with his "concerns" about voting and the need for "observers" to insure a non-criminal election. Oh boy! Deja vu?

CALIFORNIA READY TO SEND ARNOLD A MESSAGE: After months of unions running tens of millions in anti-Arnold commercials, polls are showing the Governator's pet props lagging. Barring a surprise landslide, no matter what happens the left and their buddies in the media will claim Arnold's history. He's not.
Larson's recommendations: YES on 73 through 78; NO on 79 and 80.

ANOTHER LONG NIGHT IN PARIS: The French sent a message of weakness when they opted out of our move to yank Saddam from power. Lots of good that did for them. Muslim rioters kept it up terrorizing France for the twelfth night. Politicians there are clueless and still pretending that radical Islam isn't really part of the mix. Appeasement du jour.

HERE WE GO AGAIN: San Diego's hot mayoral election revs up with City Attorney Mike Aguirre writing to the County Registrar of Voters about "concern" that we need "observers" to insure there are no "problems" in the Tuesday vote. Current polls show Jerry Sanders leading Donna Frye by 7%. As I speculated on my show last week, we shouldn't expect that a Sanders mayoral victory, if fairly close, means he's the winner and litigation is over. I don't think Aguirre's move is coincidental but is a part of the run-up to make a case for possible challenges and recounts. That would allow any entity (unions, for example) more encouragement to fight the will of the people in court. Again.
www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20051105/news_7m5election.html

NO, SOMETHING HAS NOT FROZEN OVER: Donna Frye breaks the silence, on Day 123, joining me on NewsRadio600 KOGO and www.kogo.com at 2:35PM Pacific time on Monday.
Also on the show: Jerry Sanders, Former Governor Pete Wilson, Rowan Scarborough of the Washington Times (author of "Rumsfeld's War"). We'll also run down the list of all of the issues in Tuesday crucial elections.

ANARCHISTS GONE WILD

Leftists around the world are sensing that this is "their time". Chaos is spreading beyond Paris today and Muslim extremists are stirring the pot. Aided by the mainstream/dinosaur media with their distorted coverage of anti-Bush crowds in Argentina (do they even READ the signs in the synchronized throngs? Protests are reported as if they'e AMERICAN voters rising up against GWB), thugs around the world are often taking their cues from media... and many are getting marching orders from terror groups. Watch other potential hot spots with heavy Muslim populations such as Denmark, Holland and the UK. We'll see if the French have discovered a new spine when it comes to fighting this menace.

PEGGY NOONAN WAS RIGHT

She said the Clintons would never willingly leave the national/world stage. They'd have to be dragged off with a hook, just like in vaudeville days. The staying power, thanks to morphing and reinvention (and some selective amnesia) continues with Bubba's interview about how Hillary would be a better president than he was. This after he managed to turn his part in Rosa Parks' funeral service into a typical Clinton "Hey, look at me!" moment. Well, no matter how highly he's speaking about his wife, he's probably still sleeping on the couch.

WAS IT AN ACCIDENT? I doubt it. With security concerns in any heated political race, someone had to know who was in the audience at the California Governator's TV appearance Thursday night. No matter what really happened, at least the station is apologizing. More than that LA Times has done for their cheap hit pieces, normally timed to mess up elections.

NEW TERRORIST THREAT IN EUROPE AND BEYOND: And we're not only talking about the increased "spontaneous" riots in the Paris area. Unrest is popping up in many places, and terrorists are in the mix.

NONE DARE CALL IT WHAT IT IS

You've seen the headline: "Paris Burning". The poorest areas are being torched nightly by "disgruntled youth", etc. Rarely do you see the rest of the story: It's Muslim extremists doing the dirty work. They're not only creating mayhem, but they're also involved in very orchestrated events. Nothing spontaneous here. Mainstream/dinosaur media say it's due to the "youth" being upset about "cultural differences". The issue here is familiar in these days of rampant political correctness: Immigrants move to a new country then expect the host nation to cave into their demands and alter sovereignty, changing local culture...or else. Of course I don't mean to suggest that all Muslims behave this way. But the current events will not help their public relations.

MORE LESSONS HERE?
France and the UK have quite liberal laws regarding discrimination. Something isn't working here, folks. So, despite go-good hopes for nirvana on the left, I guess you can't legislate this.

LOOKS LIKE ASSIMILATION IS WORKING VERY WELL: So much for the Mexican election. Now about all the money flowing from illegals in the USA back to the old country....

THE "WHOPPER DU JOUR": Bill Clinton does it again as he tried to make it all about himself at Rosa Parks funeral. Considering that we're not quite to the 50th anniversary of Ms. Parks' heroic bus protest, Bubba's again fuzzy in his recollection. The numbers don't add up. It's right up there with Hillary claiming she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, in honor of his Mt. Everest climb. In the World-O-Clinton, dates and facts don't matter. If revisionist history feels good, do it. The ex-Prez' comments about Rosa Parks included this gem:

"I remember as if it were yesterday that fateful day 50 years ago. I was a nine-year-old Southern white boy who rode a segregated bus every single day of my life. I sat in the front. Black folk sat in the back. When Rosa showed us that black folks didn't have to sit in the back anymore, two of my friends and I who strongly approved of what she had done decided we didn't have to sit in the front anymore. It was just a tiny gesture by three ordinary kids, but that tiny gesture was repeated over and over again, millions and millions of times in the hearts and minds of children, their parents, their grandparents, their great grandparents, proving that she did help to set us all free."

...and as I told Abraham Lincoln, "No.. you have to be tougher on this. Let me write the Emancipation Proclamation for you". Good grief.

JIMMY CARTER, DARLING OF THE LEFT

Oh sure, he's hawking his book. But do the liberal, mainstream/dinosaur media really think we're that stupid? Do they assume we've forgotten malaise, Jimmy lusting-in-the-pages-of-Playboy, double-digit inflation, wimpy foreign policy, thermostat police proposals....gas lines, hostages and dumping the Shah for the radicals in Iran (who are more powerful than ever)????? They keep saluting him as an elder statesman instead of the pathetic, blame-America-first, guilt-ridden liberal that he is. And Aljazeera loves it when he dumps on our foreign policy.

OK, America, what were you thinking?

SPEAKING OF ALJAZEERA: Here's how they're spinning the mysterious CNN prison story. (Reminder: The top Al Qaeda terrorists aren't being held for bad penmanship or parking tickets).

OH MY! THE LIBERALS ARE RIGHT!?!?!

Here it is! The EVIDENCE that Bush/Rumsfeld/Cheney are planning to SEND MORE TROOPS TO IRAQ!!!!!!! Could the DRAFT be next!?!??!??!??!? It's VIETNAM ALL OVER AGAIN!!!!!! (Oh... sorry... I think I'm channeling Cindy Sheehan.) Well, the way the media are touting the "hint" from Rumsfeld, you'd think we're talking about cranking up the number to double the 158,000 or so now in Iraq.... speeding toward 500,000 ala the 1960s. Not quite.
The truth is in the details.

Sen. Harry "Slots" Reid reminds himself of the single
page of the DNC playbook that they keep trying over and
over again. Deja Vu from the banks of denial.

HERE'S WHAT THE BAD GUYS ARE UP TO: Tony Blankley has the issue nailed in his latest book. The parallels to the Nazis are creepy. And this meshes with what I heard in
the Middle East during my trip in September.

IT WAS HARRY REID'S CRY FOR HELP

And no one noticed. All of his sad whining about being "disappointed" about no Rove indictment (Egad! He's still at large!!!!!!!!!!!), Libby, Alito... now he and Turban Durbin have "hijacked" the U.S. Senate. What a fine bunch of "leaders". Authorities should have taken the hint and put Reid in "care". And what a scary image: dimming the lights... for what? Dinner and dancing? Barbara Mikulski's one-woman dance demonstration?

SPEAKING OF THE SENATE: Novelist (and Senator) Babs Boxer (whose new fiction volume is even panned by the NY Times) is known for her deep thoughts. Here's a handy round-up:

OH, THAT'S CLASSY... GET QUOTES FROM MOM

In a reprise of the famous Connie Chung interview with Gingrich's mother where she used the "b" word (shocking!), now they found Sam Alito's mom to reveal his true feelings about abortion. Good grief. So nice to take advantage of the elderly for political purposes.
